8.2 Connection and startup

Make sure that the power unit is separated from the H.264 digital recorder and that
this does not carry any voltage.
In any case, also observe the operating instructions of the devices which you use
with this product (e.g. surveillance camera, monitor, etc.).
• Make sure that the power unit of the H.264 digital recorder does not carry any voltage.
• Connect up to four surveillance cameras to the connections "CH1 to CH4" (18).
• Make sure that the cameras are supplied with power.
• Connect a monitor to the connection "VIDEO OUTPUT" (19).
• You can connect audio signals (e.g. of a surveillance camera with audio surveillance) to the ports
"AIN1 - AIN4" (21). These are 4 cinch connections. The following applies: Audio input "AIN1" is
assigned to video input "CH1", audio input "AIN2" to video input "CH2", etc. (can be adjusted; see
chapter "10.2.2 SETUP - RECORD").
• The connection "AUDIO OUTPUT" (20) is a cinch audio output. Connect this audio output to a device
with a matching audio input.
• If required, connect a network cable to the "RJ45" port (26).
• Connect the low-voltage plug of the provided power unit with the power supply connection „DC 12V"
(28). Insert the plug of the power unit into a (230V~/230 V) mains socket (230V~/50Hz).
• At the connection terminal "RS485/SENSOR/ALARM" (27), you can connect the corresponding sen-
sors, alarm signalling devices or a suitable PTZ camera (PTZ = PAN, TILT, ZOOM, suitable cameras
are available separately). Observe the connection diagram in illustration A1.
• Turn your monitor on and select the respective display channel.
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control by pulling off the cover of the battery
compartment.
• Insert two 1.5 V batteries observing the right polarity (type AAA).
• Close the battery compartment on the back of the remote control by pulling off the cover of the battery
compartment.
• Turn the digital recorder on by putting the switch "ON/OFF" (22) into the position "I"
