3. Symbols
A lightning symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of an electric shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates to you particular risks in handling, operating
and control.
The "Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

4. Safety Instructions

The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-com-
pliance with the operating instructions. Liability for any and all consequential dam-
age is excluded!
We do not accept any liability for personal injury or damage to property caused by
incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety instructions. In such cases the
guarantee is voided.
• The H.264 digital recorder, the remote control as well as the power unit must not
be modified or converted, as not only the CE approval will become void but also
the warranty.
• The supplied power pack unit corresponds to protection class II. It may only be
connected to a standard household 230V~/50Hz mains supply socket.
• Always turn the system off via the function "QUIT" (see chapter "10.10 QUIT")
• Never pull the mains plug out of the outlet during operation. You may first put the
"ON/OFF" (22) switch into the position (O) after the system was shut down.
• The H.264 digital recorder, the remote control, the mouse as well as the power unit
may not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, intense vibrations
or heavy mechanical strain.
• If the H.264 digital recorder is used in connection with other devices e.g. a surveil-
lance camera or a monitor, the operating instructions and security notices of the
connected devices must be observed absolutely.
• The operation of the H.264 digital recorder in connection with a suitable surveil-
lance camera does not replace personal supervision of children or people who
require special assistance, but serves only as a support to this supervision.
• When the system components are taken from a cold to a warm room (e.g. during
transport), condensation water may be created. This could damage the product.
There is also the deadly peril of an electric shock. This is why you should always
let the product get to room temperature before you use it or connect the plug-in
power supply with the mains voltage. This may take several hours.
