8. CHARGE STATUS DISPLAY FOR THE INTEGRATED
RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
Press the charge condition button (7). The display (4) lights up and indicates the charge condition of the recharge-
able battery as a percentage. The charge condition can be checked, e.g., after charging or in operation. The display
will switch off again automatically after approx. 30 seconds.
Figure 2
If a consumer is connected to the quick-start system (e.g. a mobile phone is charged via the USB connection of the
quick-start system), this load causes the percentage in the display to drop more or less quickly depending on the
charge condition of the integrated rechargeable battery.
Since the power load on the internal rechargeable battery can be very different when a consumer is connec-
ted, we recommend performing the test of the charge condition of the internal rechargeable battery without
any consumers connected.
Observe the following information on the charge condition of the integrated rechargeable battery:
90% to 100%:
Rechargeable battery is full; quick-start function or use as an external 12 V-voltage source is possible.
75% to 90%:
The rechargeable battery is no longer entirely charged; the quick-start function is limited; use as an external 12 V
voltage source is possible
50% to 75 %:
Rechargeable battery is no longer charged; quick-start function is no longer possible; use as external 12 V-voltage
source is limited; rechargeable battery should be charged
25% to 50%:
Rechargeable battery flat, quick-start function and connection of external consumers is no longer possible; rechar-
geable battery must be charged
< 25%:
Rechargeable battery is flat, subject to deep discharge or defective; charge rechargeable battery and check capa-
city.
When you check the charge condition while a consumer is connected, the displayed values may deviate a
lot from idle measurement, depending on the amount of power drawn. If more than 75% has been shown
when idle and the displayed value drops to below 25% under load (with a consumer connected), either the
connected consumer has a too-high power intake or the internal rechargeable battery has lost capacity.
If the charge connection voltage is reached when charging („FL" flashes in the display), you need to terminate
charging.
If you check the charge condition at once after terminating charging (push charge condition button (7),
the charge display shows approx. 99% - 100%. Since the battery voltage will adjust to rated voltage after
charging (approx. 12.7 V), the display may quickly show a value below 100%. This is not an error, but has
physical reasons.
