b) Charger, Charging
• The enclosed plug-in mains unit must only be operated with mains voltage (see chapter „Technical
Data").
• The mains unit is constructed pursuant to protection category II.
• Never use any other charger than the included one to charge the quick-start system.
• The corresponding cable with cigarette lighter plug is included for charging at a cigarette lighter socket.
This is only suitable for an on-board voltage of 12 V.
• Charging lead batteries can lead to the formation of explosive gases. Therefore, always perform
charging only in well-ventilated rooms. Never charge lead batteries in containers or in badly ventilated
rooms.
c) Operation
• The starting aid is only permissible for motor vehicles with 12 V-board grid. For a board grid with a diffe-
rent voltage (e.g. 6 V or 24 V), there not only is a danger of explosion by the rechargeable battery in the
quick-start system or vehicle; all the electronics components in the board grid may also be damaged!
• Before providing starting aid, always observe the operating instructions of the vehicle regarding how
starting aid can be provided. Improper starting aid may pose a danger of damage to the electronics
components in the board grid!
• The product is intended only as a starting aid for a vehicle with own rechargeable batteries. The quick-
start system is not suitable to replace a drive battery.
• Never try to perform starting aid for a frozen battery; danger of explosion!
• Select a stable, level, sufficiently large site for operating the product so that it cannot tilt or fall off.
Operate and store the product only standing up.
• Never operate the product in closed insides of vehicles; observe sufficient ventilation!
• The product must not be operated close to flammable materials or gases. There is a danger of explosi-
on!
• Attention, LED light: Never look into the LED beam! Never watch directly or with optical instruments!
• Do not operate the product unattended. Despite a considerable number of protective circuits, it is
impossible to exclude the possibility of malfunctions during operation.
• Only operate the product in moderate climate, never in tropical climate.
• Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation during and after operation. Never cover up the product.
• Never operate the device immediately after it was taken from a cold room to a warm room. This causes
formation of condensation, which may not only lead to functional impairment, but also poses the danger
of potentially fatal electric shock!
• Therefore, first let the product reach room temperature before using it. This may take several hours!
