cal value) in the main display is converted into the binary code when it is represented
on bar graph.
Note!
Measured value tendencies (upwards or downwards) can be more easily reco-
gnised by the bar graph's distinctly higher measuring speed. The bar graph dis-
play is comparable with an analogue device's indicator, without its mechanical
disadvantages.
b) MIN and MAX
The MIN or MAX sub-functions detect amplitude jumps from approx. 100 ms. The
"PEAK" sub-function is recommended for detecting quicker alterations to measured
values. Proceed as follows:
Press MENU. The sub-function display block appears and "AUTO OFF" flashes.
Using the arrow push buttons, select the MIN or MAX sub-function and confirm it
with "ENTER". The maximum or minimum value function is now started. The display
given in the main display will be renewed every time a new maximum (MAX) or mini-
mum (MIN) value occurs. You can quit this function by pressing "HOLD" twice.
Note!
When the polarity is exchanged (reversed sign "-") during measurements of direct
quantities, the minimum value and the maximum value are also exchanged.
c) PEAK
The PEAK sub-function (for peak value) is similar to the MIN-MAX function, but it ser-
ves here to detect measured signals that alter very quickly (less than 100 ms), such
as starting currents from machinery (e.g., motors for model-building), etc. However,
this sub-function is only possible whilst measuring direct quantities (direct voltage or
current): it cannot be used for alternating quantities nor during the other measuring
functions.
Press MENU. "AUTO OFF" will flash. Select the "+PEAK" sub-function (for rising
sides) or "-PEAK" (for falling sides) and confirm with "ENTER". The PEAK-function
has been initiated. Each new peak value will be captured, recorded (frozen, similar to
Data Hold) and displayed. To quit the sub-function, press "HOLD" twice.
d) AVG
The average sub-function (AVG = mean value display) serves to improve the reading
of faded, or strongly fluctuating, measured signals. In doing so, 100 measured sig-
nals are continuously detected, added, divided by 100 and displayed. "AUTO OFF"
will flash when you press "MENU". The determination of the mean value will be star-

b) Logiciel
Introduisez le CD-ROM dans le lecteur correspondant de votre PC. Dans l'explora-
teur, cliquez sur l'icône correspondante (3.1 ou 95/98). Cliquez sur "setup" et suivez
les instructions qui apparaissent à l'écran. Après l'installation (et après le redémarra-
ge de l'ordinateur), il suffit de cliquer sur l'icône "VC -608" du groupe de program-
mes pour démarrer le logiciel.
c) Marche à suivre pour activer l'interface dans l'appareil de mesure :
Appuyez sur la touche "MENU". "AUTO-OFF" clignote. Le symbole "RS232C" appa-
raît en dessous. Appuyez une fois sur la touche fléchée ">". "RS232C" commence à
clignoter. Appuyez sur la touche "ENTER" pour valider l'entrée. L'interface est main-
tenant allumée. Ce réglage est maintenu jusqu'à la mise hors marche (position
"OFF") du multimètre.

Traitement des déchets
Si le multimètre numérique ne fonctionne plus alors que son alimentation (pile bloc
de 9 V) et les fusibles sont encore intacts, ou s'il n'est plus réparable, il faut l'éliminer
suivant les lois en vigueur.
