IMPORTANT
All warning lights, except for neutral
position (4) and parking brake (1), must
go out as soon as the engine starts. If
this is not the case, immediately shut off
the engine and remedy the problem.
2.2
Starting operation DFG
– Insert key in the ignition/starter switch
(26).
– Place the ignition/starter switch in
position I.
– Push warning signal button (28) and
check horn for proper function.
– After the ignition/starter switch (26)
has been switched into position I, the
charging current (17), engine oil
pressure (8), neutral position (4), and
parking brake (1) warning lights, as
well as the preignition indicator light,
(16) come on.
– Depress drive pedal (22) fully and wait
until the preignition indicator light goes
out.
NOTICE
The preignition time depends on
the engine temperature; it is
about 4 seconds.
NOTICE
On the models DFG 316s/320
the bulb does not go out, which
is why the starter or ignition key
is turned to position II after 4
seconds.
– Move the ignition/starter switch further
to position II.
