5.5 Periodic Cleaning and Hygiene
To guarantee that the vending machine operates correctly, it is indispensable to carry out
periodic cleaning operations, as described below.
Caution!
Disconnect the machine from the electrical mains before beginning the cleaning operations.
5.5.1 Daily Cleaning and Hygiene
» Clean the glass inside and outside using the proper detergents.
» Clean the control panel with a damp cloth.
» Clean the retrieval flap with a clean cloth.
» When loading new products, check the expiry dates and load new products following the
concept "FIFO" (first in – first out).
» Remove dust and/or dirt from the sensors with compressed air and/or a clean cloth.
5.5.2 Weekly Cleaning and Hygiene
This should be done in addition to daily cleaning:
» Clean the air grille with compressed air and a damp cloth.
» Clean the drawers with warm water and neutral detergents. Do not use solvents or abrasive
detergents.
» Check to see if there are insects and, in that case, remove them from the interior of the
vending machine.
» Remove the dust generated in the refrigeration system area, especially on the base.
» Check the door seals. Clean them with warm water, non abrasive detergent, and a soft
cloth. Do not lubricate the seals and check for possible deformations or damage. Replace
them if necessary.
» Check and clean the sensors of the payment systems installed. Refer to the manufacturers
instructions of each device.
5.5.3 Monthly Cleaning and Hygiene
This should be done in addition to daily and weekly cleaning:
» Clean the cabinet inside and outside with a suitable detergent or soap. Apply a layer of
good car wax to the outer surface. Repair any scratches in the paint to prevent corrosion.
» Check the drainage hose and clean. The water from the evaporator must flow freely into the
tank next to the compressor.
» Clean the display screen and the internal part of the panel / display window.
» Check and clean the LED bars with warm water only.
» Check that all compartments and hoses of the refrigeration system are clean and that the
air passage is not obstructed. Condenser and evaporator must be kept clean for optimal
operation. Clean the condenser every three months with a vacuum cleaner and a brush,
making sure that all the fins and the hoses are clean and free.
