Troubleshooting
The Trac mows unevenly.
1. Remove accumulations of grass from the bottom of the housing of the Trac unit.
2. Make sure that the mowing blades are sharp and in good condition (neither bent nor installed incorrectly)
3. Check the fastening bolts of the mowing blades. The bolts have to be tightened.
4. Check the adjustment of the level of the Trac using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
5. Check the mowing blade belt tension using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
6. Check the belt pulleys for damage or wear. Replace if necessary.
7. Check the housing of the Trac unit for any possible damage. Repair or replace in necessary.
The Trac leaves unmown strips between the mowing blades.
1. When mowing very high, thick or extremely wet grass, an unmown strip may remain between the two blades.
2. The forward speed should be adjusted to the mowing conditions using the gear selection. The engine should run at the highest
speed.
3. Make sure that the mowing blades are sharp and in good condition. Replace if necessary.
4. Check the mowing blade belt tension. Adjust if necessary.
5. Check the blades for damage or wear. Replace if necessary.
6. Check the housing of the Trac unit for any possible damage. Repair or replace if necessary.
The Trac "peels" the lawn. (Peel occurs frequently with rough or uneven areas of a lawn.)
1. Check the adjustment of the cutting height and adjust if necessary.
2. Check the housing of the mower for any damage. Repair or replace if necessary.
3. Check for bent blades. Replace if necessary.
4. Check the level adjustment of the mower unit. Adjust if necessary.
The Trac does not eject the grass.
1. Remove grass accumulations from the bottom of the housing of the Trac unit.
2. Under wet working conditions, the ejection tunnel and the bottom of the mower may get clogged with grass.
3. The forward speed should be adapted to the mowing conditions. The engine should run at the highest speed.
4. When mowing high grass, first of all adjust for high cutting height and then cut the desired cutting height again.
5. Check the mowing blade belt tension using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
6. If a blade or blades have been replaced, make sure that it/they is/are properly mounted.
The mowing blade drive belt jumps off when used.
1. Strands of the mowing blade drive belt might be damaged. Replace the belt if necessary.
2. Check the belt tension using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
3. Check the belt guide. The correct distances from the pulley is 1.5 mm when the mowing blade clutch lever is engaged.
4. Check the adjustment of the level of the mower using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
5. Check for any foreign objects preventing the belt from moving forward. Remove any foreign objects there might be.
6. Check all the pulleys for the mower. A warped or cracked pulley may result in problems. Replace if necessary.
7. Check the interior surface of the engine drive pulley. If the interior surface is rough or split, the pulley should be replaced.
8. Check the tension pulley unit of the mowing blade clutch for wear. Replace the parts necessary.
The mowing blade drive belt slips
1. If the grass is too high or wet, the belt may slip.
2. Check the belt for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.
3. Check the belt tension using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
4. Check the tension spring of the mowing blade drive belt. If the spring is stretched or damaged, it should be replaced.
The mowing blade drive belt suffers excessive wear.
1. Check all the belt guides. The correct distance from the pulley is 1.5 mm when the mowing blade clutch lever is engaged.
2. Check for foreign objects preventing the belt from moving forward. Remove any foreign objects there might be.
3. Check the pulleys for damage. Replace if necessary.
4. Make sure that the mowing blade brake releases the belt when the clutch lever is engaged. Adjust or replace if necessary.
5. Check the adjustment of the mower. Adjust if necessary.
6. Check the tension of the mowing blade belt using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
The blades will not engage.
1. Check the belt. If it is worn or brittle, replace it. If it is loose, adjust the belt.
2. Check the clutch spring on the tension pulley for the clutch. If a spring is broken or damaged, replace it.
3. Check for foreign object that prevent the belt from moving forward. Remove any foreign objects there might be.
The blades will not disengage.
1. Check the tension of the mowing blade belt using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
2. If adjusting the belt of the mowing blades does not produce a satisfactory result, install a new belt of the same time made by
the manufacturer.
3. Check for any foreign objects preventing the belt from moving forward. Remove any foreign objects there might be.
Extreme vibration develops when one engages the blades.
1. Check the mowing blades and make sure that they are not uneven or loose. Replace if necessary.
2. Check the belt for burnt spots or irregularities that might result in vibration. Replace if necessary.
3. Check the blades for damage or wear. Replace if necessary.
4. Check for worn or damaged clutch-engaging parts. Repair or replace if necessary.
5. Check the interior surface of the engine drive pulley.
replaced.
6. Check the bottom of the housing of the Trac unit for accumulations of grass. Remove the grass.
7. Check for any loose or damaged engine fastening elements. Tighten or replace if necessary.
8. Check the tension of the mowing blade belt using the Instructions for Use. Adjust if necessary.
If the interior surface is rough or cracked, the pulley should be
