6. Description and assembly of the components

6.11 The Smartmove control

The Smartmove control is used for controlling the
specimen stage (23.1, 23.2) and the image focus
(23.3) by using the turning knobs. The variable
function keys (23.5) and (23.6) are assigned mag-
nifi cation change and fi ne/coarse focusing be-
fore delivery. The keys are labeled accordingly.
The motorized stage can be moved to a special
loading position for easily changing the speci-
mens. Therefore the objective change keys (23.5)
must be pressed simoultaneously. The stage will
be lowered and the slide will be moved to a front/
right position. Pressing both keys again moves
the stage to the former position.
For a comfortable operation the height position of
the above knobs can be set to an individual level
by turning the wheel (23.4).
