Radio Reception
Functional Sequence with strong Radio Reception
When inserting the batteries you can either wait until the weather
station will automatically receive the radio signal or you can set the
time manually. When synchronizing the weather station automati-
cally please read the hints mentioned below. For setting the time
and date manually, refer to page 18.
After inserting the batteries into the weather station and the outdoor
sensor, hold the °C/°F DOWN button (3) pressed for approx.
2 seconds. By doing this the automatic synchronisation will start.
The weather station will start radio reception and the radio icon (L)
is displayed. If only the radio tower is displayed, the signal is weak.
When the tower and the antenna are displayed, the signal is strong.
When the signal is strong enough the weather station will automati-
cally synchronize within 10 minutes.
Functional Sequence with weak Radio Reception
In general, the best conditions to receive the radio signal usually are
between midnight and 4 am. The weather station starts scanning for
the radio signal at 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 4 am and 5 am. If it once
received the signal, it sets the time and stops the scanning
sequence.
If there is no radio signal, place the weather station at a different
location to receive the signal. In some cases, simply moving or
turning around, the clock will ensure better radio reception. Also
check the batteries and replace them, if necessary.
Manual Scanning for the Radio Signal
At any time you can start in normal time mode the automatic
synchronization by pressing the °C/°F DOWN button (3). Hold the
°C/°F DOWN button pressed for approx. 2 seconds.
The automatic synchronisation can be used at any time, e. g. for re-
setting the time precisely to the second.
