Introduction

The radio controlled weather station automatically receives the
time signal broadcast by the official European standard long
wave frequency of 77.5 kHz. The time signal transmitter of the
National Physical Laboratory Braunschweig is located in Main-
flingen near Frankfurt/Main (Germany). The high-precision radio
signal can be received within a distance of 1500 km around
Mainflingen (deviation of 1 sec. in 1 million years).
If the weather station is out of range of the radio signal
transmission or has weak radio signal, the clock will still run as a
quartz clock, until it receives the radio signal again.

Location

Place the weather station at least 1 meter away from electrical
appliances (such as televisions, microwaves, speakers, com-
puters or metallic objects). If you use the weather station in
reinforced concrete buildings, place the unit close to windows or
other building openings.
Please note that strong radio and electric supply facilities,
airports, railway routes, high-voltage lines, transformer stations,
mountains, valleys etc. as well as neon lights and bad weather
conditions have an influence on the quality of the radio signal.
For better handling and setting, place the weather station on the
pedestal (6). On the rear of the unit you will find a hole for
mounting on the wall (7).
For better handling of the outdoor sensor, unfold the
base (14) or mount it on the wall by using the hole
for wall mounting. The outdoor sensor is spray proof
(IPX3). Do not place the outdoor sensor horizontally
and make sure water cannot get into the housing.
