• Depending on the audio equipment provided (or their outputs), select an input of
the control unit (the SPDIF connection, the optical input or the conventional stereo
Cynch input) and connect it to the audio source via an appropriate cable.
Make sure that only a low-level signal is connected to the conven-
tional stereo Cynch input of the control unit. If your sound card
comprises e.g. an amplifier (to this effect, read the instructions
regarding your sound card!), the latter must be switched off, as
otherwise the loudspeakers might be destroyed by an excessively
high input signal. Use, e.g., only the "LINE-OUT" connection of
your sound card, not the "SPK" connection.
On selecting the optical or the SPDIF connection, note fact that
you have to connect it to the OUTPUT of your audio device.
• Check the "master volume control" on the rear panel of the subwoofer; open it just
a little!
• Re-connect your computer and all the other equipment to the mains voltage and
switch them on, then switch on the control unit and the subwoofer.
• Load a program with sound output (e.g. a game or your operating system), and
test the sound output. Adjust the volume e.g. using the volume buttons on the
remote control; you can actuate the master volume control on the subwoofer's
rear panel to adjust the maximum possible volume.
On principle, the bass amplification can be controlled separately via the bass con-
trol on the subwoofer.
