Setting up the Double Grinder

Before undertaking any work on the machine, pull the power plug
1.
Before start-up the visor and the spark
deflector must be attached to both grinding
wheels. The work piece support must not be
further away from the grinding wheel than 2
mm. Check this distance regularly while using
the grinder because the diameter of the wheel
decreases over time during use.
2.
The visor is installed together with the spark
deflector. The spark deflector should be
mounted as close to the wheel as possible to
be effective.

Attaching the Grinder to the Work Bench or a Support

1.
To attach the grinder use nuts and M6
screws which are approximately 15 – 20
mm longer than your work top is thick.
2.
Drill two holes 122 mm apart through the
work top. Use the screws to attach the
grinder to your work top. The tops of
dedicated grinder supports typically have
four slotted holes which from a cross.
3.
Align the grinder in such a way that all
four holes in the grinder overlap with the slots in the support. Attach the
grinder with the screws.

Replacing the Grinding Wheels

1.
To replace the wheel, loosen the three cross-head screws on the outer
side of the hood and remove the outer part.
2.
Now loosen the main retaining nut of the stone with a suitable open end or
ring spanner. The treads on the left hand side are left hand treats; the nut
is loosened by turning clockwise.
3.
Be careful not to confuse the nuts when putting them down. Hold the
wheel in place to keep shaft and wheel from turning and be able to loosen
the nut.
