Fixing
– Before starting work, use suitable tools
to check whether there are any hidden
supply lines in the work area. If in doubt,
inquire at the responsible utility com-
pany. Contact with electric cables can
result in fire and electric shock. Dam-
aged gas lines can cause an explosion.
A damaged water pipe can result in
major damage or electric shock.
– The awning fulfils the wind resistance
class as specified in the technical spec-
ifications (see "Technical data" on
page GB-20).
– In the assembled condition it satisfied
these requirement only, if
– the awning is assembled with the
type and number of brackets speci-
fied in these instructions,
– the awning is installed whilst taking
the specified plug extraction force
into consideration
– and the wall anchors supplied in the
scope of delivery are used for the
installation.
– Check all screws, nuts etc. from time to
time in order to ensure that they are
tightened correctly.
– The awning must be installed on a solid
underlying surface.
– Avoid installing the awning at sub-
freezing temperatures. Otherwise, the
awning could become damaged.
– Make sure that the mounting surface is
level. Uneven surfaces do not provide
the necessary stability.
Climbing aids
– Aids should not be leaned against the
awning or fixed. They must have a firm
position and offer sufficient support.
Use only the climbing aids that have
sufficiently high load-bearing capacity.
Protection against falls
– When working at great heights there is
a risk of falling. Appropriate protection
measures should be used.
Uncontrolled operation
– For manual operation, the operating
crank must be removed and kept safely.
Test run
– When the awning is extended for the
first time there should not be anyone in
the area or under the awning. The fixing
materials and brackets should be sub-
jected to a visual inspection after
extending the awning for first time.
Usage when there is rain
– If the tilt of the awning is less than 25%
= 14°, measured horizontally, then the
awning should not be extended in the
rain. There is hazard of water accumu-
lating in the cloth of the awning, through
which the awning can be damaged or
fall down.
Usage when there is wind
– If the awning is installed correctly, it will
satisfy the requirements of the wind
resistance class as specified in the
technical specifications.
– The awning should be used only for
wind speeds declared in the wind
resistance class.
Usage when there is snow or ice
– The awning should not be extended
when there is a risk of snow or frost.
There is a risk that the awning may be
damaged or fall.
– The automatic control must be deacti-
vation in the event of a risk of frost.
