Intended use

1 Intended use
The Silentflow 3 exhalation system is an accessory that removes
CO from the nasal mask and from the circuit. The exhalation

system Silentflow 3 is used in combination with a therapy device in
the treatment of sleep apnea and for non-invasive and invasive
ventilation of patients with respiratory insufficiency.
Use of an exhalation system is mandatory for non-invasive
ventilation with nasal masks and for invasive ventilation via a
leakage circuit system.

2.1 Safety information

Risk of injury from re-inhaling CO
If the exhalation system is used incorrectly, CO
 Do not seal off any of the openings of the exhalation system.
 Only use the exhalation system within the stated therapy
pressure range.
 Only use the exhalation system when the therapy device is
running.
Risk of injury from anesthetic gases!
Anesthetic gas may escape through the exhalation system and put
third parties at risk.
 Never use the exhalation system during anesthesia.
