Attaching the Adapter to the Camera
1.
Turn off the camera.
2.
Insert the attachment base of the microphone
adapter ( ) to the camera's accessory shoe or
to one of the handle unit's accessory shoes and
tighten the microphone adapter's lock screw ( ).
•
You can use the attachment base at the back of
the microphone adapter to attach it to the
accessory shoe on the front of the handle unit.
3.
Using the UN-5 or UN-10 Unit Cable, connect
the microphone adapter's AUDIO terminal ( ) to
the camera's AUDIO terminal ( ).
Align the Í marks on the unit cable's plugs and terminals.

The unit cable's connectors are interchangeable and either end can be plugged into either terminal.
•
Do not carry the camera by the attached microphone adapter.
Connecting a Microphone or Audio Input Source
To connect an analog line in device, simply plug the device's cable into the desired INPUT terminal ( ) and
start the procedure from step 3.

Set the INPUT 1 or INPUT 2 switch to a position
other than MIC+48V.
3.
Plug the microphone cable into the desired INPUT
terminal ( ).

To select the audio source, set the INPUT 1 or
INPUT 2 switch to LINE or MIC as necessary.

Do not connect or disconnect microphones and
other audio devices from any INPUT terminal when
the corresponding INPUT (audio source selection)
switch is set to the MIC+48V position. This may
damage the camera and/or device.
