Tips for piezoelectric measurement technology
78
S Load the device with a suitable force and make a note
of the charge displayed and the force applied.
To provide appropriate accuracy, the force used for
calibration should not be less than 30% of the maxi
mum force to be measured with the CFW. Avoid over
loading the sensors.
Example:
You are using force transducers under load to calibrate
your measuring chain. At a force of 10500 N, you obtain
a charge of 38600 pC.
S Calculating sensor sensitivity:
Divide the charge by the force:
38600 pC / 10500 N = 3.676 pC/N
S Adjusting the amplifier:
- In the CMD Assistant, enter the sensitivity in the
"Sensor sensitivity" field.
Now you can also define the "Physical input range".
This is the measuring range. Enter here the maxi
mum force you want to measure.
- The CMD is scaled accordingly and your measure
ment system is parameterized.
Once you have made all the settings, we recommend
making a further comparison with the reference measu
ring chain.
S Load the measurement system once again and com
pare the two measuring chains.
