1. General
Each Lutz eccentric screw drum pump in series B70V/
B70V-SR comprises an universal, three-phase or com-
pressed air motor and a pump tube.
The pumps are available with a variety of seals, drive
shafts and stator materials.
The flow rate and delivery head depend on the selected
pump size. This means that the most appropriate pump
can be chosen for each individual application.
1.1 Scope of supply
The motor and pump tube of series B70V 12.1 to 75.1
are packed in two separate cartons unless specified
otherwise by the customer.
The packaging may also contain any accessories or-
dered. It is therefore important to check that the con-
signment is complete as ordered.
1.2 Year of construction
The year of construction of the appliance can be seen
on the field for the serial number. Here are attached
to the serial number the both last digits of the year of
construction, e.g. (-10 for the year 2010).
2. Motor types
The Lutz eccentric screw drum pump of series B70V/
B70V-SR is available in three different versions:
2.1 Drive units for type B70V-D, series 12.1 to
75.1
Three-phase drives
The pumps of series B70V are driven by three-phase
motors. The following three-phase motors are available:
0.37, 0.55, 0.75, 1.1 kW and 1.5 kW, 700 or 900 rpm,
230/400 V, 50 Hz, type of protection IP 54. Other types
of protection, voltages, motor ratings and speeds are
available on request.
Further information can be found in the operating in-
structions for three-phase motors.
Three-phase drives with frequency converter
To optimally adjust the volume flow and desired pum-
ping head of an eccentric screw drum pump, you can
choose between the following three-phase motors with
attached frequency converter: 0.55, 0.75, 1.1 and 1.5
kW.
More information can be found in the operating instruc-
tions for three-phase motors.
High leakage current
A radio interference filter in the frequency con-
verter causes additional leakage current through
the earth conductor.
The earth leakage current can be between 3.5
and 11 mA depending on the clocking frequency.
Compressed air drives
Compressed air motors of type 4 DA, 6 DA or 8 DA rated
at 0.45, 1.0 or 1.7 kW for 6 bar and 900 rpm. Operating
pressure max. 7 bar, recommended speed 200-900 rpm,
air consumption 55, 80 or 130 Nm³/h, air connection
thread 1/4" NPT or 1/2" NPT.
Further information can be found in the operating in-
structions for compressed air motors.
2.2 Drive units for type B70V-SR, series 12.1 to 50.1
The following universal motors and compressed air mo-
tors are available for this type:
- Universal motor MA II and MI 4
- Universal motor ME II - explosion proof
- Compressed air motors MD1xL and MD2xL
Further information can be found in the respective
operating instructions.
3. Pump tubes
The eccentric screw pump of series B70V/B70V-SR is
available in a number of different versions as regards
its sealing, drive shaft, pump material, stator geometry
and stator material. The pump is used to deliver viscous,
pure, turbid, aggressive and non aggressive liquids.
Some pump versions of series B70V are approved for
pumping flammable liquids in explosion hazard areas
Zone 0. The approval comprises the explosion group II A
and the temperature classes T1 - T4.
The approved pump tubes are marked with:
The pump tubes may only be installed in an upright
position.
