6.1
Cleaning
Only use a soft cloth and neutral detergents to clean
the housing and display of the BAT 171. Never use
abrasive cleaning agents or coarse workshop cloths.

Replacing internal batteries

If the internal AA batteries are in need of
replacement, the BAT 171 displays the message
"LOW INTERNAL BATTERIES! REPLACE BATTERIES
SOON!".
1. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw
in the battery compartment cover on the back of the
BAT 171.
2. Remove the battery compartment cover.
3. Take out the flat batteries.
4. Fit new batteries.

In doing so pay attention to correct positive and
negative polarity (refer to symbols in battery
compartment).
5. Fit the battery compartment cover and secure it with
the screw.

1. Remove the screw.

2. Hold the housing and pull the battery connecting
cable out of the housing.
3. Move the new battery connecting cable to the
correct position and insert.
4. Secure the battery connecting cable again.
