11. Lithium accumulators (LiPo, LiIon, LiFe)
a) General information
This charge program is only suited for accumulators with Lithium technology,
"LiPo", "LiIon" and "LiFe". The respective accumulator type, which you want to
connect to the charger, must be set prior to a charge/discharge procedure (in
the "User" settings, see chapter 16).
If the accumulator has a balancer connection, the balancer accumulator
connector as well as the connection cable of the accumulator must be
connected when charging/discharging.
Use the correct balancer connector depending on the number of cells.
There are different types of balancer plug. For this reason, do not use force if
the plug does not fit! Suitable adapters are available to purchase for the
balancer plug.
When using a balancer (integrated in the charger "B6"), all cells have the same
voltage after the charge process, which prevents the overcharging of individual
cells. Overloading a cell in a LiPo accumulator does not only reduce the
accumulator's life, but also runs the risk of having the accumulator explode and
creates a danger of fire and explosion!
The charge current to be set depends on the accumulator capacity and is
usually 1C. However, you should take the accumulator manufacturer's
instructions into account.
The value "1C" means that the charging current is equivalent to the accumulator's
capacity. As such, a charge current of 1.8A should be set for a 1800mAh LiPo
accumulator at 1C.
In the main menu, select the accumulator program "LIXX BATT" with the button "Batt Type/
Stop" confirm your selection with "Start/Enter".
Depending on the accumulator type selected in the "User" settings, the display
shows "LiPo", "LiIo" or "LiFe".
Check whether the accumulator type indicated on the display coincides with
the accumulator you want to charge/discharge.
