Draining off engine oil
For an oil change, before major repairs and also to drain in preparation for certain
transportations, it is necessary to completely drain off the engine oil. This can be done
particularly well when the engine is still slightly warm and the oil is somewhat more fluid.

Place a flat collecting container under the oil
filler neck. This must be able to completely
collect at least 0.4 litres of oil.
¨
Remove the oil cap and tilt the genset to the
side slightly.
Wait until all of the oil has run into the
¨
collecting container.
¨
Close the oil cap and the oil filler neck cap.
Decant the old oil into a suitable canister and
¨
dispose of it properly, see
page 113.

Before putting the genset back into operation, make sure that it has been
topped up with fresh oil and that the oil level has been checked.

Only use the fuel recommended for your genset.

water into the fuel tank.
Follow all safety instructions relating to the handling of fuel.

Petrol contains volatile elements; petrol vapours are highly flammable and also
explosive under certain conditions.
Handle the petrol only in well-ventilated locations.

Do not smoke, and keep naked flames and sparks away from all parts that
come into contact with fuel (hands, cloths etc.)

Always keep petrol out of the reach of children and unauthorised persons.
