Please note: When the W-DMX system is activated, the link between the built-in DMX input (XLR mounting
plug) is electronically turned off, but the DMX output (XLR mounting socket) will function normally. If a device
is powered on when the built-in W-DMX system is activated, the fixture will automatically scan for a wireless
DMX signal from a W-DMX transmitter. If no wireless signal is received the fixture will electronically switch to
wired mode.
Caution: Never connect a cabled controller if the device with wireless receiver is controlled by the wireless
transmitter! This could cause interference and serious damage to the controller.
Installation of a wireless DMX-system
1. Follow the instructions that come with the user manual of the used wireless transmitter and connect the
transmitter to your DMX-controller.
2. To sync your fixture with your wireless transmitter please follow the steps below:
a) Initially, the W-DMX indicator on the device should be permanent red.
b) Press the configuration button on your W-DMX transmitter. The red/green LED indicators on the
transmitter and the device should then begin to flash rapidly for about 5 to 10 seconds while the two
systems pair.
c) Once the device is paired with the transmitter, the W-DMX status indicators on the both the device
and the transmitter will stop flashing and should be permanent green. If there is no DMX-signal, the
transmitter's and receiver's red/green LEDs will be flashing slowly. If the paring is unsuccessful
please repeat the process until the paring is secured.
d) The wireless receiver has an internal memory function. If the device is switched off and on again, the
receiver automatically logs into the transmitter.
e) Control the device via your DMX-controller.
Clearing the transmitter link
a) Access the device's main menu via the control board and select "Personality" – "Wireless DMX". Select
"Reset WDMX Mem" to clear any existing link between the device and a transmitter. The W-DMX
indicator on the receiver will turn permanent red when the link is severed.
b) You may also clear the link from the transmitter. First, be sure the device is powered on. Then hold down
the configuration button on the transmitter for as least 5 seconds. This will automatically clear the link
between the transmitter and any device that is powered on. As soon as the wireless receiver is logged
out, the receiver's red LED is permanently lit.
Meaning of the W-DMX status LEDs and their colors
•
Red/green flashes rapidly: login mode; the wireless receiver is logging into the wireless transmitter.
•
Red/green flashes slowly: paired with a transmitter; the transmitter is not receiving a DMX-signal from a
controller.
•
Green permanently lit: the wireless receiver is logged into the wireless transmitter. The DMX-signal is
present and received.
•
Red permanently lit: not logged into a wireless transmitter (free).
