5 Service
a Have your power tool serviced
by a qualified repair person using
only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the
power tool is maintained.
General safety instructions for
grinding, sanding, wire brushing,
polishing, routing and abrasive
cutting:
a This power tool is designed to be
used as a grinding tool, sander,
wire brush wheel, polisher, for
routing and as a disc cutter.
Please observe all of the safety
information, instructions, diagrams
and data supplied with the power
tool. Failure to observe the following
instructions, may lead to electrical
shock, fire and/or serious injuries.
b Do not use any accessories that
have not been designed and
recommended by the manufacturer
for use with this power tool. The
fact that you are able to attach an
accessory to your power tool does
not mean that it is safe to use.
c The permitted rotational speed
(rpm) of the attached tool must be
at least as high as the maximum
rotational speed specified on the
power tool. Attached tools that rotate
faster than their permitted maximum
may break and fly off.
d The external diameter and
thickness of the attached tool
must match the dimensions of your
power tool. Incorrectly dimensioned

tools cannot be sufficiently shielded
or controlled.

e Cutting discs, sanding drums or
other accessories must fit precisely
on to the grinding spindle or collet
of your power tool. Tools that do not
fit precisely to the sanding spindle of
the power tool will rotate unevenly,
vibrate heavily and can cause loss of
control.
f Discs, sanding drums, cutting tools
or other attachments must be fully
inserted into the collet or chuck.
The protrusion or exposed part
of the spindle/mandrel between
the grinding wheel and the collet
must be as small as possible. If
the mandrel is not properly clamped
or if the grinding wheel is set too
far forward, the tool bit can become
loose and be ejected at high speed.
g Do not attach damaged tools.
Before each use, check the
attached tools such as sanding
discs for splits and tears, sanding
drums for tears or excessive wear
or weaknesses, wire brushes
for loose or broken wires. If the
power tool or tool bit is dropped,
check it is not damaged, or use an
undamaged tool bit. After checking
and installing the tool bit, make
sure that you and anybody else in
the vicinity are outside the area of
the rotating tool and operate the
power tool at maximum speed for
one minute. Damaged tool bits will
usually break within this test period.
h Wear personal protective equipment.
Wear a fullface visor, visor or
protective goggles depending on
the work you are doing. Wear dust
protection masks, ear defenders,
protective gloves or special aprons
as appropriate to protect yourself
from the tiny grinding and material
particles. Your eyes should be
protected from the flying particles
