3 Applications
PMX-164 is a monophonic powered mixer
with integrated audio player and Bluetooth
receiver . It will replay audio files from stor-
age media or from your smartphone or
tablet computer by wireless connection .
The powered mixer is designed for versatile
sound applications, e . g . music performances,
speeches or background music . Apart from
microphones, it is also possible to connect
other audio sources (e . g . musical instruments
or CD players) and to add an echo effect, if
desired .
The powered mixer features an insert fa-
cility for processing the mixed signal externally
(e . g . by means of a dynamic processor or
equalizer), an output to connect a recorder
and a low-frequency output to connect, for
example, an active subwoofer .
4 Connections
Always switch off the powered mixer before
making or changing any connections .
4.1 Microphones
Use a cable with XLR plug to connect mi-
crophones to the jack MIC (1) of the input
channels CH 1 – 6 .
For microphones requiring phantom
power, insert a phantom power supply unit .
4.2 Mono audio sources
Connect monophonic audio sources with line
signal level (e . g . receivers for wireless micro-
phones, mixers or musical instruments) to the
6 .3 mm jacks LINE (2) of the input channels
CH 1 – 5 .
4.3 Stereo audio sources
Connect a stereophonic audio source with
line signal level (e . g . CD/ MP3 player, radio,
mixer, output of a recorder) to the RCA jacks
LINE (6) of the input channel CH 6 if you wish
to adjust the sound or add an echo effect .
When an audio source is connected
to the jacks CD/ TAPE IN (18), an individual
sound adjustment or an echo effect will not
be available .
Note: PMX-164 is monophonic; therefore, the two
channels of a stereo signal will be internally mixed
to a mono signal .
