13. Practical Flight Tips for the First Start
• For your first flight attempts, we recommend picking a free space of app. 5 x 5 m.
• The ground should be flat (concrete, tiles, parquet flooring, or similar) to allow you to determine already prior to take
off if the model tends to drift off in a particular direction.
• Position yourself directly behind your helicopter. As long as you can see your model from behind, the latter will react
to the control commands: right, left, forward, backward exactly as you see it. Whereas, if the cockpit of the model
points towards you, it reacts exactly the opposite way from your steering commands at the transmitter.
14. Trimming the Helicopter
First take up operation of the transmitter and afterwards connect the charged flight battery to the controller.
Carefully push the pitch stick (see figure 1, item 10) forward from the bottom position (motor off) and observe the
behaviour of your model. Shortly before the helicopter starts hovering, you can already determine in which direction
your model wants to move.
If the helicopter wants to turn to the right with the tip of the fuselage, then reduce the speed and push the trim slider for
the tail function (see figure 1, item 9) gradually to the left. Push the Pitch stick carefully forward and check if the
adjustment was sufficient. Keep repeating this procedure until the helicopter no longer has any tendency to turn to the
right. If the tip of the fuselage turns to the left, carry out a right trim adjustment.
