8. Commissioning
Before working with the meter, you have to insert the enclosed batteries.
Insert the batteries as described in the chapter "Cleaning and Maintenance".
The IR-thermometer permits individual system settings for measuring that you should perform after initial commis-
sioning.
Operation and setting of the individual additional functions takes place via a comfortable navigation joystick. If the
signal sounds are active (menu "bEEP"), a signal will be output per push of a button. If a function cannot be executed,
two brief subsequent signals will sound. The signal sounds can be deactivated in the settings.
a) Open/close the lens cover
The lens has a mechanical lens cover attached. This prevents ingression of
dirt when the device is not needed. Turn the lens cover (6) as shown to close
or open the IR lens. A colour mark attached at the side of the rotary wheel (in
the measuring direction on the left) marks the open position. Always close
the closure when the meter is not used.
b) Switching on
Switch on the meter. Briefly pushing the measuring button (5) or the navigation button (2) will switch on the meter.
Deactivation takes place automatically when the device is not operated within the pre-set deactivation time (menu
"APO").
When automatic deactivation: is deactivated (APO OFF), the meter will switch off after approx. 5 minutes without a
button being pushed for reasons of safety. This prevents premature discharge of the batteries.
