Display Illumination
When the function is active, the display will be lit during IR measurement.
After measuring, the lighting will automatically switch off after approx. 5 s.
Push the joystick up or down to switch the function ON or OFF. Confirm
with "ENTER".
The setting point is ended and the next menu item is opened.
Short-Term Automatic Deactivation
The time for short-term automatic deactivation during a measurement break
can be set from 1 - 60 seconds here. The short-term deactivation can be
deactivated via the value "OFF". The meter is then switched off after approx.
5 minutes at the latest to save batteries.
Push the joystick up or down to change the deactivation time in seconds.
Confirm with "ENTER".
Avoid a deactivation time of <5 seconds, since a quick deactivation will make the menu settings difficult.
Acoustic Signalling
Select the acoustic signals for every push of a button here. If the function
is active, a signal will be sounded for confirmation every time a button is
pushed. If two sounds are issued in sequence, the function has not been
performed.
Push the joystick up or down to switch the function ON or OFF. Confirm
with "ENTER".
The setting point is ended and the next menu item is opened.
9. Measuring
To receive precise measured values, the infrared thermometer must be adjusted to the ambience tempera-
ture. Let the device adjust to the new ambience temperature after a site change.
Longer IR measurements of high temperatures at low measuring distances lead to heating of the meters
and thus to wrong measurements. For precise measured values: The higher the temperature, the larger
should the measuring distance and the shorter the measuring duration will be.
When the lens cover (6) is closed, the temperature is measured at the closure slider (device temperature)!
Glossy surfaces will falsify the measuring result in the IR measurement. To compensate, the surface of
glossy parts can be covered with adhesive tape or matte-black paint. The devices cannot measure through
transparent surfaces, such as glass. Instead, it will measure the surface temperature of the glass.
