needs. Your qualified Prosthetist / Orthotist (CPO) has informed you about the correct use of
your orthosis.

2 Product Description

2.1 Design

The orthosis consists of the following components:

The spring element is used for the intermediate storage of deformation energy and therefore
influences the dynamic gait characteristics.
Configuring an improper spring stiffness increases the amount of energy expended while walk­
ing.
1. Thigh closure straps
2. Thigh shell
3. Hydraulic unit (joint module)
4. Medial follower joint
5. Calf closure strap
6. Plug for spring element
7. Upper clamp adapter for spring element
8. Spring element (carbon or glass fibre) with integrated sensor for
energy storage during the stance phase and to detect control sig­
nals
A carbon spring element is stiffer than a glass fibre spring element.
