The detctor has to be switched on
before entering hazardous areas !
The EX-TEC® PM 3 contains permanent
magnets. These could effect the Reed
Switch of cardiac pacemakers. People using
such cardiac pacemakers should take care
that the EX-TEC® PM 3 will stay off the
pacemaker for a least 5 cm.
The detector is switched-on by a short
pushing up to the key (Item 1). A visual
alarm (Item 4) and an audible alarm (Item
3) will be triggered for about 2 seconds as
a practice alarm.

First the pre-alarm level of 20 % LEL or
0.90 vol% methane as set in the factory
will be indicated.

Then the detector will indicate the main
alarm level of 100 % LEL or 4.40 vol%
methane.
