Road and operational Safety
• When using a child's seat, the seat's open coil springs should be covered to avoid fingers fouling (KETTLER clamp protection,
Art. No. 08947-690)
• Children should only wear the appropriate bike helmet.
Carrying Loads
If carrying an increased load on the bike you should:
• Keep lightweight parts on an additional front luggage rack
• In bikes with full suspension, adjust the suspension to the increase in weight
• Try and keep heavy loads to the rear
• Secure loads against slipping, tilting and falling
By carrying loads of any kind the bike will react differently: the bigger the load the worse the cycling conditions.
Increase the braking distance!
Please observe the maximum load for your aluminium bike (body weight + load).
Getting ready for the first ride
Our KETTLER aluminium bicycles do require a minimum of service, they are not maintenance-free. At regular intervals the gear
mechanism and brakes must be checked and adjusted, if necassary, as otherwise the comfortable changing of gears as well as
the safety of the bicycle respectively of the cyclist is endangered.
If the KETTLER bicycles has been purchased via a mail order company or a similar business we recommend that you have one
of our dealers getting the bicycle ready for the road. This initial work is not free of charge but subject to the usual tariffs of the
respective dealer. Our bicycles have been adjusted optimally for shipment, however still require some work.
Before cycling all parts concerning safety (e.g. gears, brakes, ahed-set and handlebars) must be checked to ensure that they
function properly.
