If actual external load impedance is also more than 10 kΩ, the ratio will be close to 1, the real voltage will be
close to 1amplitude setting and display value, but if you change the load to be lower, the real voltage won't
match the displayed amplitude. You must set the external load to be actual load in order to make the
displayed amplitude correct. Load setting range can be from 1Ω to 10 kΩ, when you set it more than 10 kΩ,
high impedance (High Z) will be displayed. Impedance of inductance and capacitance in external load is
relative to frequency, when frequency is high, you can't ignore it, which you must pay attention to. If you
don't know the exact impedance of external load, you can set the setting load step by step to make actual
voltage match actual amplitude. Now the setting load accords with actual impedance.
5.5.4 As for sine wave of single frequency:
With limitation to flatness calibration and maximum amplitude, actual output amplitude accords with
displayed value. But when in sweep and modulate function, frequency more than 10 MHz and amplitude
more than 10 Vpp, maybe actual amplitude differ from the displayed value.
5.5.5 As for arbitrary waveform:
In waveform displayed figure, if peak-to-peak values don't reach the full rang, the output amplitude won't
match the display value.
5.6 To set the output amplitude
If you want to change the amplitude to 3.6Vrms, follow the steps:
5.6.1 Press the〖Ampl〗softkey to select "amplitude", displaying 1.000 0 Vpp.
5.6.2 Press the numeric keys【3】, 【•】 and 【6】, enter the value "3.6".
5.6.3 Press the〖Vrms〗softkey, displaying 3.600 0 Vrms.
When you press the unit softkey, generator changes the amplitude of output waveform with the new setting.
You can also change amplitude continuously by using the knob and arrow keys【←】 and【→】.
You can easily convert the amplitude format from valid value to peak-to-peak while
pressing relevant unit softkey. For example,press〖Vpp〗or 〖mVpp〗softkey to display
amplitude as peak-to-peak; press 〖Vrms〗or 〖mVrms〗softkey to display amplitude as
valid value.
5.7 Frequency Amplitude step
Press〖StepFreq〗softkey to set a step frequency, for example, to enter 2.5 kHz. Then press
〖Freq〗softkey to select "frequency". Each time you press 【↑】 key, the frequency increases 2.5 kHz;
press【↓】key, the frequency decreases 2.5 kHz. This method is convenient to output a series frequency
sequence by stepping increase or decrease.
Press〖StepFreq〗softkey to set a step amplitude, for example, to enter 1.6 Vpp. Then press
〖Ampl〗softkey to desired amplitude. Each time you press 【↑】 key, the amplitude increases 1.6 Vpp;
press【↓】key, the amplitude decreases 1.6 Vpp. This method is convenient to output a series amplitude
sequence by stepping increase or decrease.
