2.11.5 Power supply 230 V ~ ( Combi D E – with
electrical heating rods)
The 230 V electrical connection may only be made
by a qualified electrician (in Germany for example,
in accordance with VDE 0100, part 721 or
IEC 60364-7-721).
The electrical connection 230 V ~ / 50 Hz must be
•
made at a fused circuit with at least 10 A (better 16 A).
To install the Combi D E, the following must be present
in the vehicle's electrical circuit:
A suitable residual current circuit-breaker
•
Mains disconnect switch (for maintenance and re-
•
pair work)
These switches must disconnect at all poles and must
have the specified contact spacing (minimum 3.5 mm).

Cables must be secured using suitable clamps.
•
Lay cables / lines of low-voltage systems physically
•
separate from those for extra low-voltage systems.
Do not lay cables so that they are in direct contact
•
with warm air ducts.
Do not lay cables beneath the heater.
•
Attach the earth conductor PE to the vehicle's earth

Initial start-up
During the initial start-up of a brand new appliance,
small quantities of fumes and a slight odour may briefly
occur.
3.1
Filling the fuel lines
The Combi D has an automatic filling function. With
this filling function, the fuel lines between the fuel tank
and the Combi D are vented and filled with fuel at initial
start-up and after repair / maintenance work.
The filling function must be carried out at initial start-
up of the Combi D. The appliance shows message
"423" which means that it is ready for filling.
Before filling, read and observe all the operating
instructions.
Before filling, make sure that the complete fuel sys-
tem between the vehicle tank and the Combi D is in-
stalled correctly in accordance with these installation
instructions.
The filling function is a defined program sequence.
There are two ways to start the filling function:
When a new appliance is delivered for initial start-
•
up: start via the control panel by setting the temper-
ature on the digital control panel to 30 °C or level 5
on an analog control panel.
After repair / maintenance work: start via the Truma
•
Diagnose Tool by selecting "filling function"
The program sequence is identical no matter how it is
started.
When the filling function is started, the appliance car-
ries out the following steps automatically:
The appliance goes into an ignitable status
•
The appliance requests fuel for a defined time to
•
vent the fuel lines
The appliance executes an algorithm for flame
•
recognition
During filling, warning "424" is displayed. When filling
is complete, the warning is no longer displayed and the
heater changes to normal heating mode. Observe the
operating instructions.
If filling is unsuccessful, error code "565" is displayed.
The appliance switches off. The shut-down procedure
must not be interrupted. Observe the information in the
section on switching off in the operating instructions.
