5 Setscrew for horizontal mirror adjustment
4. Set the mirror to "1" with the aid of the vertical tilt-
ing mechanism (Fig. 10, Pos. 4).
5. Fasten the KDS quick-change clamp to the rear left-
hand wheel. Insert the axle of the wheel laser into
the socket of the KDS quick-change clamp. Align the
wheel laser so that it is as horizontal as possible, and
secure it to the KDS quick-change clamp by means of
the setscrew.
6. Now press the KDS quick-change clamp with wheel
laser downwards to optimize the holding play.
7. Switch on the laser.
Never look directly at the source of the beam!
8. Unscrew the setscrew (Fig. 10, Pos. 5) and turn the
mirror until the laser beam is reflected on the verti-
cal marking of the wheel laser. Secure the mirror in
place with the setscrew. The mirror is now aligned
horizontally.

Placing the slit diaphragm on the rear wheel
10. Loosen the fixing screw of the height-adjustable
3-slit diaphragm and adjust the diaphragm in such a
way that the laser beam passes through the center
of one of the slits (see Fig. 12). Then, use the fixing
screw to lock the diaphragm in place again.
i
When using the 3-slit diaphragm, make sure the
laser beam passes through the same slit during the
setting operations on both the rear and front wheel.

Adjusting the slit diaphragm
11. Now, place the slit diaphragm on the ground next to
the front wheel (see Fig. 13).
12. Loosen the fixing screw on the KDS quick clamp
and align the wheel laser in such a way that the
laser beam passes through the center of the same
diaphragm slit as during the adjustment at the rear
wheel. Use the fixing screw to lock the wheel laser
in place again. Now, the laser beam is aligned par-
allel to the plane the vehicle rests on.
