Safety Regulations for Burner Operation

• After each unsuccessful ignition, thoroughly air the burner area.
Danger of explosions!
• When handling gas, smoking is prohibited!
• Before starting operation of the gas burner, place a fire extinguisher at a well visible and
easy to reach location (safety clearance: approx. 3 m). Each year, the operatability of the
fire extinguisher must be checked by an expert. Proof of the inspection must be confirmed
by attaching an inspection sticker on the fire extinguisher.
• The kitchen personnel must be instructed on how to use the fire extinguisher.
• Within a 10 m circumference of the burner flame, attention must be paid to the danger of
burning and fire. Store spare gas bottles at least 10 m away from the cooking locations.
• Before starting operation, check the gas burner for operational safety / damages. A gas
burner that is clearly not safe for operation, damaged or untight must not be put into oper-
ation.
• Operating a gas burner in enclosed spaces without exhaust gas extraction is permitted
only when for each burner
- a minimum volume of 40 m
as well as
- a fresh air opening with at least 200 cm
lockable is given
and
- developing exhaust gas is led outdoors by means of the flue.
• Operation of the burner in hazardous areas as well as in the vicinity fueling or gas stations
is prohibited. Danger to life!
• Operation of the burner with liquid gas in areas with open sewerage systems (e. g., sew-
age treatment plants, well drains). A minimum clearance of 3 m is to be observed.
• The exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide, which is a toxic gas that has no smell.
