Cleaning of the Blade Bar resp. the Guide Bar
Remove dirt from the blade bar with a scrubbing brush or a small hand
broom.
To remove rosin residues, mix some paraffin and engine oil and wipe off the
blade bar (mixture ration Paraffin : Engine Oil = 50 : 50).
Do not clean the housing with sharp detergents or aggressive chemicals in
order not to damage the surfaces. Use only a lightly moistened cloth for
cleaning.
Make sure the ventilation slots are
always clean and free of debris. If
necessary, clean the ventilation
slots with a soft brush.
Oil the blade bar after cleaning and
before using again.
For cleaning the guide bar, first
dismount it and remove sawdust in
the bar rail. Also grease the nose
sprocket from the feeding port on
the tip of the guide bar.
Reverse the guide bar occasionally
to prevent partial wear. The guide
bar rail should always be a square.
Check for wear of the bar rail.
