The currents to be measured can be determined directly at indivi-
dual current supply cables (single insulated conductors) in equip-
ment (similar to a current transformer). As a useful aid, the measu-
ring instrument includes a "data hold" function, which holds or "fre-
ezes" the instantaneous value as soon as the "Hold" button is
pressed.
The current clamp is universally applicable in hobby, (limited) indu-
strial and educational areas, etc.

Handling, Putting into operation

A Inserting and changing the battery
So that the current clamp functions perfectly, it must be fitted with
two 1.5 V cells (type AAA). When the battery-change symbol ap-
pears at the top of the display, the batteries must be replaced. Pro-
ceed as follows:
- Disconnect the unit from the circuit being measured,
- switch the unit off (rotary switch to "OFF") and
- with a suitable (crosspoint) screwdriver remove the fixing scr-
ews from the lower case shell.
- Now lift the case shell carefully away.
- Remove the used batteries from the battery holder and
- replace the batteries with new ones of the same type.
- Observe correct polarity (+ and -)
- After replacing the battery place it in the case of the measu-
ring instrument and carefully close this once more.

Attention!
Never operate the measuring instrument in an ope-
ned condition! Danger to life!
Do not leave used batteries in the measuring in-
strument, because even leak-proof batteries can
corrode and thereby release chemicals, which are
both damaging to health and can destroy the bat-
tery compartment.
Used batteries are to be considered as special wa-
ste and must therefore be disposed of with respect
for the environment. Special collection bins are
provided for this purpose at specialist retailers and
in waste-recovery yards.
B Putting into operation
Rotary switch selector
The measuring instrument is switched both on and off via the rotary
switch.
Attention!
The rotary switch may not be moved during measu-
rement.
Never exceed the maximum input levels, because
otherwise damage to the measuring instrument
can endanger life.
Arranged in a semicircle, the various measuring ranges can be sel-
ected here by turning the switch (anticlockwise from "OFF"):
~20
=
AC current measurement up to 20 A max.
~200
=
AC current measurement up to 200 A max.
~600
=
AC current measurement up to 600 A max.
