Before first Use
Remove the electric kettle from the packaging and check it for any
damage in transit. Dispose of any non-reusable packaging material
properly or store it in a safe location out of reach of children.
Assembling and using the Water Kettle
1. Place the base (7) on a solid, level surface. Only connect the base to a
properly installed, earthed mains socket with protective connection.
2. Fill the electric kettle with water. Do not overfill. Do not exceed the MAX
mark on the water level indicator of the kettle.
3. Place the electric kettle on the base (7) and closed the lid (3) by
pressing it down.
4. Press down the switch (6) in direction I, to switch on the electric kettle.
The power indicator (5) LED turns on. Make sure the lid (3) is closed
during operation.
Before using the electric kettle for the first time, fresh water should be
boiled in it twice for cleaning. Do not use any additives or detergents.
After boiling, the device automatically switches off. If you want to stop
the boiling process, lift up the switch (6) or just remove the kettle from
the base. Attention hot water! There is risk of burns!
5. Disconnect the base from mains power if you do not use the water
kettle for a longer period of time, when cleaning or moving it or if any
malfunctions occur.
Decalcifying
The intervals, in which the unit must be decalcified, depend on how
often the unit is used.
Decalcify the unit every 3 – 4 months. Do not use vinegar for decalcify-
ing, but use a common lime-acid based decalcifying agent. Follow the
instructions on the package of the decalcifying agent.
For thoroughly cleaning the kettle, use a bottle brush and clean the
interior of the kettle in order to avoid calcification.
