General:
The
electronics
fitted
into
this
set
are
capable
of
tuning
and
memorising
16
different programmes. The required tuning
range is selected with the three buttons &,
4& and 4. As soon as you depress one of
these
buttons,
a green
line will begin
to
traverse the screen,
beginning
on the left
side.
This
line shows
you
how
the auto-
matic self-seeking tuner explores the tuning
range, starting with the low channel
num-
bers. As soon.as the line reaches a channel
where
a programme
is received,
picture
and
sound
are
automatically
adjusted
to
a preset optimum value and the self-seek-
ing process stops. If you want to memorise
this programme depress the memory button
a. If the station which appears is not re-
quired, do not press the memory button #&
but
depress
again the
respective
tuning
range button (2,
@ or 4) to allow the
tuning line to traverse to the next station.

Example of Adjustment
Tuning a Station on VHF Band lil,
Channel 6, to Programme 1
Select programme
"1", programme
number
1 lights up in the window &. Press button
(VHF Band Ill) and the green tuning
line will begin to traverse the screen staf-
ting from channel number 5.
When
it reaches
"6" and your TV station
is emitting
the
first
programme
on
this
channel, picture and sound for that channel
will appear and automatically be adjusted
to optimum
values.
To store this station
depress the memory
button @. The elec-
tronic
memory
will then tell the set that,
each time
programme
"1" is selected,
it —
must switch to VHF
band
Hl and tune to
channel 6, with optimum picture and sound.
For the other programmes
proceed in the
same manner.
lf you wish the picture to appear softer or
sharper,
press one of the two
buttons @
until
the
picture
fine
tuning
is to your
liking (4 button
=
sharper,
~
button
=
softer). This
point of fine tuning
can
be
stored by pressing
button 4
and will re-
occur when selecting the same programme
position.
®
With this system the fine tuning can be
set
individually
for
each
programme
selected.

As the memory
depends
upon an elec-
trical
potential,
the
set
must
remain
connected to the mains supply, although
it does not have to be switched
on, for
the memory to be retained. Four batte-
ries are fitted into the TV receiver in a
slide-in
battery
container,
so
that,
if
you
go on
holiday
and
prefer to dis-
connect the set from the mains
supply
before you go, the memory
will still be
retained. Battery life is normally several
years. We
recommend
that you always
use leakproof batteries.
@
When
a communal
aerial system is em-
ployed all UHF transmissions
are con-
verted into VHF and appear
in Band
|
and Band Ill.
