6.1.2 Environmental Installation Conditions

A protective roof or wall can be provided if the explosion-protected device is exposed to
weathering.
▶
Equip explosion-protected electrical equipment with a breather and drain valve in order to
prevent the vacuum effect. Observe the correct mounting orientation when doing so;
see also chapter 6.1.1.
▶
Do not create any cold bridges (condensation hazard). If necessary, install the enclosure
with a clearance to minimise condensation in the enclosure.
