Secondary Device Functions (continued)
Vibration Level
Vibration level, primarily the calculated v-RMS value (root
mean square)
Unit: [mm/s]
Minimum value: 0.0
Maximum value: 1770.0
Vibration Alarm Enable
If the parameter is set (TRUE), the vibration level is
compared with the vibration alarm threshold value. If the
vibration exceeds the threshold value, an event is created
and sent.
0 = alarm deactivated
1...255 = alarm activated
Default = 0
Vibration Alarm Threshold
Threshold value of the vibration for triggering an event. The
comparison is performed for each axis and variable with
logical OR-link.
The hysteresis is fixed and is based on time (not on
amplitude). If the vibration value exceeds the threshold
value for 50 ms, the alarm is activated. Objective:
debouncing and avoidance of shock values.
Unit: [mm/s]
Minimum value: 0.0
Maximum value: 1770.0
Vibration Alarm Status
The status flag is TRUE if the vibration exceeds the alarm
threshold value.
0 = no alarm
255 = alarm

Tab. 6-65: Vibration detection – Events
This event indicates that the measured vibration value
(v-RMS) exceeds the specified threshold value. The
machine should be inspected, since the vibration value is
above the normal value. The status of the device itself is
OK, it is functioning properly.
The higher vibration is caused outside of the device. The
primary goal is the detection of trends, changes to the
vibration alarm value (see Fig. 6-11 on page 85 yellow
line).
Device Status
0 – Device is
operating
properly.
