4.2. Functions of the control panel

ON/OFF button
Use this button (Fig. 27) to switch your wheelchair into drive mode.
The button must not be pressed when driving, as this will trigger an
emergency stop (see Chapter 2.5).
Hazard lights
27.
Use this button (Fig. 28) to switch the hazard lights on in emergency
situations when the wheelchair is not fit to drive. All four hazard lights
will then flash and indicate to other road users that your wheelchair is
not fit to drive. When switching the control unit off, the hazard lights
will remain on and can only be switched off when the control unit is
reactivated.
Indicators (left/right)
28.
Use this button to switch on the left or right indicator of your wheel-
chair (Fig. 29), to indicate to other road users that you would like to
change your direction to the left/right. By pressing this button again,
you will switch the indicators back off.
Battery status display
You can check the battery's charge level on the battery status display
(Fig. 30). If the display is in the green area, then sufficient charge is
available. If the display is in the red area, then only short journeys are
29.
possible and the battery should be recharged (see Charging batteries).
If the battery display is constantly lit, then the electric wheelchair is
fully functional. If there is a fault, this is shown by rapid flashing. First
check
the battery charge level and
whether the drives are engaged.
If the battery charger continues to flash, contact your dealer.
30.
Headlight
Use this button (Fig. 31) to switch on the active lighting of your wheel-
chair at dusk or when going through dim areas such as, for example,
tunnels. You are then more visible to other road users.

Speed level display
The speed level display (Fig. 32) shows the pre-set speed level. The
possible settings are from one to five LED lamps. The speed levels indi-
cate the maximum achievable speed when deflecting the joystick, i.e.
in speed level five, the highest maximum speed is achievable and in
level one, the lowest.
Adjusting the speed level
Use these buttons (Fig. 33) to increase (left) or decrease (right) the
speed level, i.e. the maximum achievable speed. Speed regulation is
through operation of the joystick.
Horn
The horn (Fig. 34) enables you to draw attention to yourself in difficult
situations.
Immobiliser
In order to protect your wheelchair against unauthorised use or theft,
park the wheelchair in an enclosed space or activate the immobiliser.
With the control unit switched off, press the ON/ON/OFF button
until you hear a beep. Then release the button.
Push the joystick in the direction of travel, then against the direc-
tion of travel and then into the neutral position. A beep will sound
each time. The control unit is now disabled.
To re-enable the control unit
Switch the control unit on using the ON/OFF button.
Push the joystick in the direction of travel, then against the direc-
tion of travel and then into the neutral position. A beep will sound
each time.
