7. Setting
RV-AMP/2 has to be adapted to certain connection variants. 2 small switches
(SWITCH 1 and 2) can be found for this.
Switch 1:
serves for the image mirage. This switch must be set to OFF in the standard operation
as back-up camera. The image will be mirrored.
Switch 2:
This switch must be set to ON in the standard operation with a camera. As soon as
the monitor will be switched on the camera becomes also active.
When using a second video source e. g. DVD player the switch 2 must be set to OFF,
since otherwise the camera is activated when switching on the monitor. The camera is
now activated via the green line when reversing.
Switch setting ON/OFF see arrow on the box/designation on the switch block.
Unprofessional cable-laying and cable connections cause again and again
malfunctions or damage of components.
A proper cable-laying or cable connection is the basic prerequisite for a
continuous and faultless functioning of the retrofitted components.
Observe the following points:
– Install the cable, depending on the possibility, always in the interior of the
vehicle. There it is better protected than outside the vehicle. If you, however,
install the cable outside the vehicle, pay attention that there is a safe attachment
(by additional cable clips, insulating tape etc.).
– In order to avoid damage to the cable, keep always sufficient distance to overheated
and moving vehicle parts (exhaust pipes, driving shafts, generators, ventilators etc.)
when installing cables.
– Wrap each connection at the cable (also in the vehicle) tightly with a good insulating-
tape.
– Pay attention when installing the cable that these:
1. are not sharply bent and twisted,
2. do not rub at the edges,
3. are not laid through sharp-edged openings.
– Each breakthrough at the skin must be protected by appropriate measures against the
inrush of underground water, e.g. through inserting of the cable with sealing compo-
und and by washing off the cable and the bushing with sealing compound.
