General
RV-AMP/2 serves for the connection of the camera RV-20/M with the monitor RV-54/M.
The switch box is used for providing a suitable voltage supply and delivering the control
signal for the motor driven protective flap of the camera. The camera is activated by swit-
ching on the monitor or changing into the reverse gear.
Scope of delivery:
– Switch box with wiring harness
– 3 m connecting cable 6 Pin mini DIN
– assembly material with cable positioning
– on/off-switch with wiring harness
– instructions.
Connection/ assembly
RV-AMP/2 is prepared ready to mount. Please proceed as follows (see F).
Select an assembly place in the vicinity of the monitor. It should be absolutely waterproof
– best underneath the instrument panel.
There are 3 control lines available 1 to 3
1. The black line with flat plug-shoe is connected with the rocker switch Item No.
RV-AMP-SW (option). This line is required only when using a 2nd video source e.g.
DVD player.
Execute a drilling (approx. 20 mm) at a suitable place for the assembly of the switch
and connect the black line with a + 12 V voltage source via the switch. If you switch
on the voltage, then the RV-AMP/2 receives a control signal and opens the protecting
flap of the camera and switches over e.g. from DVD-operation to cameraoperation.
2. The black line with the round plug-shoe serves as switch-on signal for the monitor.
Connect the cable with the corresponding bush of the signal input S/BY at the moni-
tor. Observe the section "Setting"!
3. Connect the green line to the + - line of the back-up light. By putting into reverse gear
RV-AMP/2 is activated, and this supplies the camera
RV-20/M with voltage, opens the flap and switches over from NAV-operation to came-
ra operation.
4. RV-AMP/2 needs a voltage supply (12 V). Connect the red line (+ 12 V) and brown line
(mass) correspondingly to a switched voltage supply (terminal 15).
5. Plug the supplied grey cable firmly into one of the inputs designated with monitor. The
other plug is connected to the monitor.
6. The black cable of the camera is plugged firmly into the input designated with camera.
