General installation instructions!
Please observe the following points before attaching the monitor:
– Screw the monitor holder onto the monitor.
– Locate the monitor with the attached holder and foot first of all on a trial basis.
– Consider with the selection of the location that you have an unhindered view on the
monitor (see F 2 and F 3).
– The assembly location should be even.
– Check before the final assembly whether the necessary free space is available, also
below the assembly place chosen for the attachment of discs and nuts.
– Consider the weight of the monitor. Are reinforcements (larger washers or plates)
necessary?
– Is the installation of the wiring harness and connecting cable to the monitor possible?
Carry out a function test before the assembly.
The foot is equipped with a self-adhesive foil which gives sufficient halts with even and
clean assembly surface. Use the 3 delivered screws for reasons of safety. Drill the pre-
viously-marked screw boreholes with a 2 mm drill-piece and screw on the foot. The foot
can be mounted also on slight convex surfaces. The foot plate can be bent easily and
adapted to the required form (see G 5). Pay attention when locating the monitor that this
is not assembled within the radius of an AIRBAG. Otherwise danger of injury exists when
it is being released.
Pay attention to a possibly large contact area between foot plate and assembly ground.
Draw the contours of the edges of the monitor foot on the instrument panel.
Mark the 3 drill points.
Execution of the break-through for the connecting cable of the monitor(see G 4)
For laying the connection cables (see G 4.2 and G 4.3), whenever possible
always use existing cable passageways or other apertures, e.g. the edges of
panelling, ventilation grids or blind switches. If no openings are available, then a
hole of Ø 13 mm (see G 4.4) must be drilled. Check before whether sufficient
free space for the drill outlet is present.
