4.3 Changing the PC IP address
Instead of changing the IP address of the interrogator, you may only have to
change the IP address of the PC. But this is only possible if your PC is never
integrated into a network, otherwise your network connection will stop working.
If your PC has never taken up a network connection, there is no address set.
To establish a connection with the interrogator, you must assign the PC and
the PC's LAN connection intended for the connection with an IP address in the
same segment and check the subnet mask. You can then use a direct
connection, via a crossed Ethernet cable, for example, to make contact with
the interrogator.
The IP address and the subnet mask of the interrogator when it is delivered,
appear on a sticker attached underneath the interrogator.
NOTE
You need administrator rights for the following steps.
4.3.1 Procedure for Windows 2000
• Use the Windows Start menu to call "Settings −> Network- and Remote
connections".
• Use the context menu (right−click) to call the "Properties" of the intended
LAN connection.
