Schüttelinkubator
Shaking Incubator
1. Before installation
The information in these operating instructions must by all means be carefully read and
observed. Only then can a perfect functioning of the Shaking Incubator be guaranteed.
Vital information within the manual are emphasized in bold letters.
Safety precautions are additionally marked with the following symbols
A free of charge guarantee repair cannot be granted for defects due to improper installation or
handling.
2. Location of the Shaking Incubator
The unit is suitable to be placed on the floor in indoors rooms; it can, however, also be placed
on work or laboratory benches.
Place on solid, stable and level surfaces only. The total weight of the unit (i.e. net weight of
the unit – see Technical Data, para 7 – plus load) must be observed.
The Shaking Incubator is not suitable for use in potentially explosive surroundings. Please
make sure that neither the heating process nor the shaking movement create an explosive
atmosphere near the Incubator.
3. Functional description
Incubation time
The microprocessor-controlled timer (settable between 1 minute and 999 hours) continuously
shows the current remaining running time of the set incubation time on the display and signals
its expiry acoustically.
Incubation temperature
The microprocessor-controlled PID type temperature control ensures fast reaching of the set
temperature with an excellent temporal temperature constancy (+/- 0.2°C). The temperature is
set and displayed digitally on the LED display, in 0.1°C increments.
The temperature range is +20°C (approx 8°C above ambient) to +70°C. The serial cooling coil
for connection to the mains water supply or to a refrigerated circulator increase the
temperature range.
Shaking motion
An overload-protected a.c. geared motor produces an orbital shaking motion with a shaking
amplitude of 25 mm through the robust, durable drive mechanism.
The motor is controlled through a PID type microprocessor frequency regulation. The shaking
frequency can be set between 10 and 250 rpm in increments of 1 rpm.
