Operating manual
Ignition: the attachments (pull rings and threaded studs, etc.) are short-circuited. Pressing the trigger will start the
welding process: the gun will slightly lift the attachment and an electric arc will be created.
Holding the electrode: the low-intensity electric arc strips the sheet metal. The heat generated by the arc will remove
impurities (grease, oil and zinc coatings, etc.) from the sheet metal.
The arc: the arc's current will create a weld pool on the support plate and will melt the end of the attachment.
Fastening: the welding gun dips the attachment into the weld pool.
Note: The support plate's thickness should not be less than ¼ of the diameter of the attachment for steel, and ½ of
the diameter for aluminium.
DRAWN-ARC WELDING
Check the polarity of the gun's dinse:
Welding attachment
Aluminium pulling ring
aluminium insulation nails and
threaded studs
Steel pulling ring
Steel threaded studs, insulation
nails, etc.
Locking turn dial for earthing
rods:
• Adjust the welding settings if necessary (SYNERGY or MANUAL mode).
• Unlock the earthing rods using the turn dial.
• Position the gun on the sheet metal.
• Bring the attachment into contact with the sheet metal. As soon as the gun beeps or the contact
LED (blue) indicator light comes on, secure the earthing rods using the turn dial.
• Press the trigger.
• When the welding process is complete, lift the gun to release the electrode (ring or threaded
stud).
Note 1: It is essential to use new pull rings when welding with them.
Note 2: To ensure that the welds are correctly positioned, draw a perpendicular cross on the support plate and align it
with the outer markings on the runner.
Note 3: Welding threaded studs should be done horizontally.
Do not overtighten the gun's rod-locking turn dial.
HOW THE DEVICE WORKS
When switched on, the device will always start in SYNERGY mode.
Changing the mode (MANUAL or SYNERGY) is done through the main menu.
WELDING IN SYNERGY MODE
In SYNERGY mode, the device automatically determines the height of the arc as well as the different welding phases'
times and currents. The type of gas to use is shown on the display screen. If the welding gun has the wrong polarity, a
message will appear on the display and the fault LED indicator light (red) on the gun will flash.
Translation of the original
instructions
• Clean and degrease the welding area.
• Attach the appropriate tool to the gun (ring holder, threaded stud holder, etc.).
If necessary, attach the pads and protective end-cap pieces to the rods, as well
as the barrel and nozzle.
• Insert the attachment (pulling ring, threaded stud, etc.) into the gun.
