Bypass magnetic switches with ignition protection type Ex i
may only be connected to certified intrinsically safe circuits
in the Ex area of Zone 1. While doing so the maximum op-
erating data of the switch must be observed.
Devices with a powder coating or plastics may not be used
in areas in which strong charge generating processes, me-
chanical blending or separating processes, the spraying of
electrons, for example, in the area of electrostatic painting
systems, take place or where pneumatically promoted dust
escapes.
Equipotential bonding
The device must be integrated in the equipotential bonding
of the plant.
Chemical reactions, or spontaneous combustion processes
may only originate from the medium itself not from the de-
vice. The ignition hazards from the medium itself must be
taken into consideration by the operator and prevented.
5.2 Assembly preparation
Ensure that the assembly surface of the BGU is clean and that there is no
mechanical damage.
5.3 Assembly of the bypass magnetic switch

Prior to assembly in an aggressive environment ensure
that the magnetic switch housing is appropriately resistant.
The protection class of the switch used must be taken into
consideration during the selection of the assembly loca-
tion.
Bypass magnetic switches which are delivered together
with bypass level indicators are already pre-assembled
only need to be set to the desired switch height.
Assembly is completed on the magnet display BMD prod-
uct line with a slot nut at the T-nut and on the bypass level
indicator BNA product line directly using a tightening strap.
