how to use the remote control
The remote control offers you a handy way to operate the robot vacuum
cleaner.
-
Use the power button to switch the robot vacuum cleaner from
standby mode to operational mode. In operational mode, the robot
vacuum cleaner is ready to start cleaning. When the robot vacuum
cleaner is cleaning, press the power button to stop cleaning.
-
Use the mode button to choose one of the four cleaning modes.
Use the auto cleaning mode for standard automatic cleaning. Use
the spot cleaning mode to clean a small area. Use the climb cleaning
mode to clean low-pile rugs and when the robot vacuum cleaner has
to climb objects that are up to 15mm high. Use the carpet cleaning
mode for cleaning wall-to-wall carpets that are hard to clean in the
auto cleaning mode. For more information on the cleaning modes, see
section 'Cleaning modes' in chapter 'Using the appliance'.
-
Use the start/pause button to start cleaning. You can also use this
button to pause the robot vacuum cleaner during cleaning and to
resume cleaning after a pause.
-
Use the turbo button to increase the cleaning power of the roller
brush for more thorough cleaning.
-
Use the base button to make the robot vacuum cleaner return to the
base station.
-
Use the clock button to set the clock time.
-
Use the timer button to set a future point in time at which the robot
vacuum cleaner has to start cleaning. For more details, see section
'Timer' in chapter 'Using the appliance'.
-
Use the direction selector to make the robot vacuum cleaner move in
a particular direction. You can use the direction selector to move the
robot vacuum cleaner to an area that needs to be cleaned.
Note: You can only use the remote control after you have switched on the robot
vacuum cleaner with the on/off switch on the bottom.
useful things to know
-
If the battery runs low during cleaning in auto cleaning or climb
cleaning mode, the robot vacuum cleaner returns to its base station
to charge. When its battery is charged, it resumes cleaning where it
stopped and finishes cleaning the whole room.
-
If you use the robot vacuum cleaner to clean in auto cleaning mode
or climb cleaning mode without its base station in the room you are
cleaning, the robot vacuum cleaner returns to its starting point in the
room when it is finished.
-
The robot vacuum cleaner may deviate from its parallel cleaning
pattern in the first minute after it has started cleaning in auto cleaning
or climb cleaning mode. It does so to determine its bearings and
its cleaning route. Once this is finished, it follows its normal parallel
cleaning pattern.
-
If the robot vacuum cleaner can no longer take picture of the ceiling
with its camera, for instance because it is cleaning under a bed or a
sofa, it may briefly lose its bearings. If this happens, it may deviate from
its normal parallel cleaning pattern for a minute to confirm its location.
Once it is sure where it is, the robot vacuum cleaner continues its
normal cleaning pattern when it is cleaning in auto cleaning or climb
cleaning mode.
