Try and cut a small area to the right
height. Keep the cord head at the
same distance from the ground in
order to obtain a uniform cutting
height.

Immediately switch OFF the motor, if
you notice any unusual vibrations or
cuttings have wrapped themselves
around the cutting tool or have
jammed near the guard. Pull the
mains plug from its socket and clear
the cutting tool of grass, brush etc.
„
Check the entire power tool for
perfect condition.
„
When using the nylon head, always
ensure that you operate only with the
correct length of line. When the
guard is fitted, the line will always be
trimmed to the permissible length
automatically (a line trimming blade
is fitted into the guard bar).
„
Therefore, when operating with the
nylon head, the guard bar must
always be fitted, together with the
integral line trimming blade, to the
standard guard.

I
NSTALLING A NEW TRIMMING LINE
The trimming line may be replaced by
two methods - rewinding the existing
reel or installing a prewound reel.
Rewinding the existing reel
Always use a spare wire with a max.
diameter of 2.41mm and a max. length
of 4.5m.
Removing the used cutting wire

Turn the green knob located under
the spool so that the two "yellow"
arrows (A) on the knob line up with
the two black arrows (B) on the spool
cover.

Use a screwdriver (C) to lift the
section of used wire to extract the
wire from inside the spool.
„
Tie a loop with the wire in order to be
able to comfortably take it with the
fingers (D) and remove the wire to be
replaced.
Preparing and inserting a new wire

Cut a 6m long section of wire.
„
Loop the line into two equal lengths
before inserting it into the holes.
„
Check that the arrows on the green
knob line up with the arrows on the
spool cover (fig.33).
„
Insert the two ends of the wire (A) in
their holes located in the middle of
the spool green knob.
„
When the two ends of the wire have
gone through the side holes on the
spool, they must be "pulled" (C) as
shown in the picture. Pull the two
ends of the wire so that the loop in
the middle of the wire is aligned with
the green knob on the spool.

Wind up the wire inside the spool by
turning the green knob (A).
„
WARNING!! Do not wind it up fully.
Leave two 10/15cm sections of wire
overhanging.
„
Refit the spool, see paragraph
FITTING THE WIRE HEAD.
The wire replacement operation has
now ended.
